New Hampshire Ball Bearings’ Astro Division Recognized by Northrop Grumman for 100 Percent Product Quality

March 17, 2008 (Laconia, NH): For the second straight year New Hampshire Ball Bearings Astro Division was named a Platinum Source Preferred Supplier for Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NGC) Integrated Systems Sector.  To qualify, Astro achieved 100 percent quality for products shipped during the previous 12 months, matching last year’s performance, and maintained a stellar rate of on-time deliveries.  

“We are honored to receive this award a second time in as many years,” said Astro’s Sales Manager, Gino Crecco. “The award acknowledges our ceaseless efforts to better support the aerospace market by improving every aspect of our business.”

The Platinum Source program, which began in September 2002, acknowledges production suppliers who have maintained consistent exemplary performance. John Saliture, sector director, Supplier Quality, congratulated the honorees for “demonstrating distinction in meeting our performance expectations.” Astro was one of 56 suppliers in attendance who were honored in 2007.

“Our supplier base is one of the strongest in the industry, and we attribute a significant portion of our success to their commitment as strategic partners,” said Scott J. Seymour, corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Systems sector.

Northrop Grumman Corporation provides technologically-advanced products, services and solutions in systems integration, defense electronics and aircraft, shipbuilding and space technology. NHBB has been a key contributor to NGC engineering in developing products and applications for numerous new programs. They are recognized as part of the NGC’s Integrated Systems strategic team.
