Astro and HiTech Divisions Honored by the State of New Hampshire for Environmental Stewardship
NH's Governor Lynch and the Executive Council welcome the first four members of Green Leaders on April 1, 2009 (l to r): Councilor Shea, DES Commissioner Burack, Councilor Hollingworth, Geoff Verney & Michelle Hamm, Monadnock Paper, Anne McKivergan, Newport Computer Services, Herb Parkhurst, NHBB Astro Div., Patti Carrier, NHBB HiTech Div., Governor Lynch, Councilor Wieczoerek, Councilor Burton, Councilor Pignatelli.
The Astro and HiTech Divisions of New Hampshire Ball Bearings, Inc. have achieved Green Leader status as part of The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES) Environmental Leadership Initiative. Both manufacturing divisions were recognized by Governor Lynch prior to the Governor and Council meeting in Concord.
The State's Environmental Leadership Initiative (ELI) was developed to recognize and reward excellent environmental performance. Green Leaders is for companies that have an excellent record of legal compliance, community relations, and pollution prevention. These companies have shown that they reliably manage their environmental affairs.
